School Districts Are Vulnerable To Cyber Attacks

Schools have had to do many things in new ways over the past few months, and that includes keeping an eye out for cyber attacks. New reports show K through 12 schools are increasingly the target of ransomware attacks during the pandemic. The FBI continues warning that cyber actors see schools as an opportunistic target as more institutions shift from in-person learning to online classes and teachers and staff rely on remote access connections. According to tyhe software company Emsisoft, there have been at least 53 school districts hit nationwide with ransomware attacks since the start of 2020.
