Doddridge County moved from orange to red on the state’s county alert map Wednesday and was the only red county in the state. Five counties were in orange in the latest DHHR map – Mingo, Nicholas, Randolph, Marshall and Berkeley. Kanawha County remained in yellow. Putnam County was in gold, and Cabell County was in green. The key map is released at 5 p.m. Saturday by the state Department of Education and determines whether counties the following week can have in-person classes and play in sports competitions.
