Kanawha, Cabell and Putnam counties were all in green in the latest West Virginia county alert map, and Mingo County was the only one in red. The latest map from the state Department of Health and Human Resources showed Kanawha stayed in green from the previous day, while Cabell and Putnam counties moved to green after being in yellow. The key map is released at 5 p.m. Saturday by the state Department of Education and determines whether counties the following week can have in-person classes and play in sports competitions. As of now, Kanawha County will be able to have trick-or-treating based on the map color.
