Nurses Could Strike in Huntington

In a vote over the weekend, nurses at Cabell-Huntington Hospital authorized a 10-day strike notice, if needed. The Nurses’ Union and hospital administrators have been negotiating for nine months over things like health insurance costs, sick leave benefits, and hospital staffing, and reached a standstill in the contract talks. The union claims nurses have been forced to pay dramatic increases in health insurance costs, and are allegedly facing a reduction in sick leave benefits.
