Wayne County moved to red on the latest West Virginia county alert map, while Kanawha shifted from yellow to gold, Cabell moved from gold to orange and Putnam remained in orange. Thirty-one counties were in red, orange or gold on the map posted Wednesday by the state Department of Health and Human Resources. Cabell, Putnam, and Boone counties were among those in orange. The key map for schools and high school athletics will come out Saturday, Dec. 4, at 5 p.m. The county alert system map is a daily snapshot of how each county is doing.
