State health officials in West Virginia confirmed more than 30 new virus-related deaths over the weekend, and said 641 people are hospitalized in the state with the virus. Kanawha County has more than 1300 active cases, according to the health department.
An upcoming testing event Tuesday has been canceled out of respect for Charleston officer Cassie Johnson’s funeral. A drive-thru event is still scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at the health department. Testing is also available by appointment by calling 304-348-8080.
