Fifty-three of West Virginia’s 55 counties were in red or orange on the latest version of the county alert map. The state Department of Health and Human Resources posted the map Monday based on Sunday’s data. Kanawha, Putnam and Cabell counties were in orange. Cabell had been in red on the previous map. Two counties were in gold: McDowell and Clay. No counties were listed in green or yellow. The orange or red designation indicates high rates of infection or percent positive in the counties.
