Gov. Jim Justice said the state has vaccinated less than a third of its 1.7 million-plus population, and he urged younger people to get vaccinated soon, as concerns grow over variants. Justice said more than 881,000 residents have received a vaccine so far, with over half of those fully vaccinated. About 72% of the over 65 population has been vaccinated and the goal is to get more than 85% of residents in that age group vaccinated. The governor continued to urge anyone over the age of 16 to get the shots, and said they can pre-register on the state’s website.
