The West Virginia Senate narrowly passed an amended version of a House bill that would eliminate state personal income tax. The bill would initially lower income tax brackets by nearly half. There were several amendments, which include raising the sales tax to eight-percent, and eliminating a proposed food tax. Now the bill goes back to the House.
