The State’s New National Park is Expected to be a Big Draw This Summer

There are 63 national parks in the United States, and the newest one is along the New River Gorge. The newly formed New River Gorge National Park and Preserve is West Virginia’s only national park and became one after being approved by Congress at the end of last year. Recreation including whitewater rafting, fishing, hiking and rock climbing factored into the decision to make it an official national attraction.
