Roadside Checkpoint Will Be Set Up Tonight

Charleston Police, along with the Kahawha County Sheriff’s Office and the Governor’s Highway Safety Program will team up for a high visibility roadside safety checkpoint later today. The sheriff’s office said there were more than nine thousand unbuckled people killed in traffic accidents in the U.S. in 2019. Along with the roadside safety checkpoint program, Charleston Police and the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office urge drivers to continue to buckle up and make sure child safety seats are working properly. The checkpoint will be today from 5 to 10 pm on 7th Avenue in Charleston.
