Charlston Will Host Several Events This Summer

Charleston city officials announced details about summer activities. Live on the Levee will return to Haddad Riverfront Park starting July 9 and will continue for 13 weeks, concluding Oct. 1. More information about the lineup will be released soon. Also, Sunday closures for Kanawha Boulevard will run through Sept. 5 for walking, biking, running, skating and other similar outdoor activities. The city said Kanawha Boulevard will be closed from Court to Greenbrier streets on those Sundays from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Parks and Recreation Department is also working on maintenance on the Magic Island Splash Pad and pools at the North Charleston Community Center and Cato Park. The anticipated opening for the Splash Pad is June 1, and the anticipated opening for pools at the North Charleston Community Center and Cato Park is July 1.

Food Truck Fridays will continue through the summer on Kanawha Boulevard from Capitol to Court streets from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
