As more parents return to work, childcare centers nationwide are also struggling with worker shortages making it harder for them to operate at normal capacity. WCHS TV reported that Friendly Faces Childcare Center in Charleston is one of the places facing a potential worker shortage. Right now, there are about 15 employees on staff which works for the moment, but as summer programs return, the list for employee needs keeps growing. The extensive background checks also make it harder to find quality candidates. Teays Valley Child Development Center is also looking for workers, and those interested are encouraged to apply.
