Tourism and economic development are the big winners from Thursday’s special session. Lawmakers approved the allocation of 250-million-dollars in budget surplus for various projects. The state will spend over 40-million-dollars on state park improvement projects and expanding the Elk River Trail. Forty-eight-million-dollars will go to local schools for improvement projects and building upgrades.
