Lumber Prices Decrease

Lumber prices soared earlier this year as demand surged, but they have come back down. Lumber prices on the national level have dropped 40 percent since the spike, according to the National Association of Home Builders. The price has dropped at the mills, but suppliers still have the higher-priced product, so consumers aren’t seeing the lower-priced product just yet. As people travel more, they may put off the backyard deck project, but if demand for lumber increases again, prices could rise.
