A federal judge is blocking West Virginia’s new law banning transgender athletes from school sports. The judge granted a temporary injunction that will allow a transgender middle schooler to run on the cross country team this fall. Judge Joseph Goodwin concluded that the law violates the girl’s rights under the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution and under Title IX requirements.
