Marshall University unveils Hal Greer statue

Marshall University unveiled a statue honoring basketball legend Hal Greer. The nearly eight-foot bronze statue is located next to the Cam Henderson Center in Huntington. Greer played basketball for Marshall in the 1950s and is credit for breaking the color barrier in West Virginia college sports. Greer won an NBA Championship in 1967 and had his jersey retired in 1976 after starring with the Syracuse Nationals and Philadelphia 76ers.
