WVSU’s Homecoming Will Be the School’s First Night Game

Homecoming activities are happening this week at West Virginia State University and will feature a homecoming parade and the school’s first night football game. Activities begin Thursday and wrap up Saturday with a 6 p.m. kickoff for the first night game at Lakin-Ray Field at Dickerson Stadium against UNC-Pembrok. Before the game, a dedication ceremony is set to begin at 5 p.m. at Lakin-Ray Field at Dickerson Stadium to celebrate the installation of artificial turf and lights on the field that are part of nearly $2 million in upgrades. The traditional homecoming parade will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at Shawnee Park and proceed along Route 25 before turning onto campus and continuing through the heart of campus to the football field where it will be followed by tailgating.
