Since June of last year, the Kanawha County Public Library has been operating out of two empty store fronts inside the town center mall, while the $32 million renovation continues downtown. Construction on the new space is expected to be finished by December or January, and by spring of next year, they hope to reopen the library’s doors to the public. WCHS TV said an additional 20,000 square feet of space has been added, and a focus on technology will be in the new Idea Lab. Tool rentals will also be available with a library card.
