A man is back in custody after jumping into the Kanawha River in handcuffs. Officers were walking Timothy Smith to court for arraignment when he took off and jumped into the river. Smith was able to get out of the water on his own and was taken back into custody. He was originally charged with forgery, and now faces an escape charge.
