The City of Charleston/Mayor’s Office of Economic and Community Development will be holding public meetings as it develops the City’s 2022-23 Annual Action Plan. Once the plan is in place it will guide the allocation of Community Development Block Grant and HOME funds. The first meeting date is today (Tuesday, December 14) at at 2:30 p.m. The next one is set for Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. and another on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. All meetings will be held by Zoom and sign-up information is available on the City of Charleston website. An allocation of nearly $1.8 million may be available and the city will allocate some of its CDBG funds to non-profit agencies for activities that benefit low and moderate-income people. This is a competitive process and interested agencies must complete and submit an application.
