Loaded Gun is Found by TSA Officers at Yeager Checkpoint

Yeager Airport also anticipates a busy day and advises that you arrive early and allow extra time to get through security and get to the gate. A man from Putnam County was stopped by Transportation Security Administration officers Tuesday from carrying a loaded 9mm handgun onto his flight at Yeager Airport. The TSA said in a news release the handgun, which was loaded with 10 bullets, was discovered by the agency’s officers at a checkpoint. Police responded to the checkpoint and confiscated the firearm. The Scott Depot, W.Va., resident faces a federal civil penalty for bringing a gun to an airport security checkpoint. According to the TSA, this is the sixth gun found at a checkpoint at Yeager Airport this year.
