Governor Jim Justice and West Virginia COVID Task Force maintain they are making progress in getting unvaccinated West Virginians to take the first shot, but that progress is going slower than expected. Most seniors at a clinic Tuesday at Lippert and Jarrett Terraces in Charleston were not getting their first shot, but rather a booster. Only 51.4 percent of West Virginians are considered fully vaccinated. Even with the threat of Omicron, only about 1,000 West Virginians according to the governor “have been getting their first shot everyday.” His administration urgers more first-timers to step forward to get the vaccine.
