City Approves CAS Cable Deal

For the first time in decades, another cable provider has been given the green light to move into Charleston. City council members approved two cable franchise agreements this week, marking the first time Charleston has had more than one active cable franchise agreement. A news release from the city said members approved a new franchise agreement with CAS Cable to construct cable infrastructure throughout the city over the next five years and operate through 2037, while Suddenlink was approved to renew its agreement with the city through 2027. Since 1988, Suddenlink has been the only cable choice in Charleston. CAS Cable is based out of Parkersburg, and will start setting up infrastructure in Charleston.
