City Council Resolution Urges Special Metals Strike Resolution

More than 100 days into the strike at Special Metals, city of Huntington council members spoke out and came up with a resolution. The United Steelworkers Local 40 Union and Special Metals have had several contract negotiations, but no agreed-upon terms. There have been no talks for further sessions. Health care is a big hold up in settling. City Council member Pat Jones voiced his opinion this week wanting the strike to end, and ultimately the council passed a resolution urging both sides to come together to settle the strike. The resolution passed 6-4-1 with council member Sarah Walling abstaining.
