Huntington police said a Virginia man was taken into custody after he kidnapped his ex-wife and led law enforcement officers on a low-speed pursuit from Ohio to West Virginia. Eric Rae was arrested Sunday after a pursuit on Interstate 64. Law enforcement officers in Lawrence County, Ohio, followed a sport utility vehicle that crossed the 17th Street West Bridge into Huntington.
Huntington police resumed the pursuit and followed the vehicle to I-64. Police said the chase ended just east of the 29th Street exit when West Virginia State Police troopers used spike strips to disable his vehicle. The woman in the vehicle said Rae was her ex-husband and shes said she got into the vehicle with him voluntarily, but he had refused to let her out once she became uncomfortable. Police said the woman was not harmed and Rae was arrested and charged with kidnapping, fleeing in a vehicle and obstructing an officer.
