Kanawha County court records said a woman charged after a man died following a house fire in Charleston set the blaze following an argument with another man, who is her husband. Patricia Kay White is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Dennis Rutledge. He was found unconscious on the second floor of a residence Monday in the 5200 block of MacCorkle Avenue SE in Kanawha City and pronounced dead at the hospital. Police said Rutledge was squatting at the vacant home when the fire broke out. Surveillance video captured a suspect setting the fire and investigators said White matched the description. White is currently being held in the South Central Regional Jail.
