Thomas Health will host an opening ceremony on Monday, Feb. 14, for the reopening of Saint Francis Hospital’s emergency department. The dedication ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. as Thomas Health says it recognizes the need for emergency care in Charleston. The new emergency department will be available for walk-in care and also can receive patients by ambulance between 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The emergency department had been idled since 2016.
