Charleston Police Invite Tweens to Junior Police and Leadership Academy

Charleston police are accepting applications for the department’s Junior Police and Leadership Academy. The academy is for kids ages 11 to 14 and will be held July 18-22, according to a post on the Charleston Police Department’s Facebook page. Police said the deadline to apply is May 10, and space is limited. Classroom topics and activities will include obstacle course, fingerprinting, shooting/driving simulator, handcuffing, team building, K-9 presentation, SWAT demonstration, first aid and CPR, crime scene processing and rappelling.
