Dates Announced For The Citywide Spring Cleanup in Charleston

Spring is just days away, and it’s time to clean up Charleston. Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin announced the dates for this year’s citywide spring cleanup in Charleston. The city teams up with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection to help clean up and beautify the neighborhoods. Goodwin said this has been a priority for her since she took office and believes this is a great way to bring the community together. Volunteers will be cleaning up in the East End, Downtown, and Bigley Avenue on April 2; in Kanawha City on April 9; the West Side and North Charleston on April 23; and South Hills on April 30. All projects will take place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., T-shirts, litter pickers, bags, gloves and other materials will be provided. You can sign up on the city website.
