West Virginia State University Names Finalists for President

Three higher education leaders have been selected for the finalists to become the 13th president of West Virginia State University. Ericke Cage, interim president of West Virginia State University, Lawrence Potter, chief academic officer and provost for the University of the District of Columbia and Melva Williams, vice chancellor for student affairs and enrollment management at Southern University at Shreveport are finalists at WVSU. Williams will be on campus Monday, March 14. Potter will visit WVSU on Tuesday, March 15. Cage will make a presentation to constituent groups on Wednesday, March 16. Cage has been serving as the university’s chief operating officer and managing the day-to-day operations of the university since the former president, Nicole Pride, resigned on July 30.
