The water level of Summersville Lake will be lowered for about a week while crews conduct electrical work on the intake structure. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said from now until March 23, the lake level will drop 5 feet per day until it reaches 1,538 feet above sea level. Lowering the lake 37 feet will help crews make the necessary repairs to the intake structure. The repairs will take two days and the outflow from the dam will be reduced on March 25 to allow the lake to refill. Winter boat launch ramps will not be accessible until April.
