Man is Sentenced to Prison in St. Alban’s Woman’s Death

A man accused of second-degree murder for killing a woman with a crossbow received the maximum prison sentence. On Tuesday, a Kanawha County judge sentenced George Call Jr. to 40 years in prison for shooting and killing Andrea Springstead after a domestic dispute. It happened on Forrestal Avenue in St. Albans. Springstead was shot in the face with the arrow from the crossbow. Call was also sentenced to pay $3,800 in restitution. He read a prepared statement before the sentencing, saying that he took full responsibility for what happened.
