The West Virginia Construction and Design Expo has been underway this week at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. Infrastructure is a primary focus this year, with more than $7 billion in government money on its way to West Virginia.
As a result, many projects are in the works, including the up-and-coming Nucor facility in Mason County. Organizers said this is the region’s largest trade show for construction and design industries and were anticipating a very large turnout. WCHS TV said West Virginia is set to get $4 billion in federal funds to be spent on water, sewer, broadband, roads, highways and bridges, and the expo was a great opportunity to meet and talk about the projects.
