Income-Eligible Families Can Get Help with Water Bills

West Virginia residents who are struggling to pay for water or wastewater bills could have an opportunity for help. The state Department of Health and Human Resources said applications are being accepted now for the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program. Eligibility is based on income and household size. An applicant’s annual income has to be at or below 60 percent of the state median income. Face-to-face interviews in a local DHHR office also are required. Those interested in applying for LIHWAP can contact their local DHHR office with questions or to request an interview to determine eligibility.
