Fire Destroys a Home on Violet Street

Charleston firefighters are working to determine what caused a house to catch fire Thursday morning. It happened around 6:15 a.m. on Violet Street, according to Metro 911 dispatchers. A family and their two dogs were home at the time and able to escape, according to firefighters, who said the fire was mostly in the attic. The home is destroyed. Firefighters say the two people who lived there had just moved in.
