Richard America faces attempted murder charges and more…after he fires shots at officers, from a home on Big Isaac Road in Salem. West Virginia State Police says America pointed an AR-15 rifle at his stepson and friend earlier in the afternoon. The trooper got a search warrant for the home…because the suspect was prohibited from having a weapon. Officials say…when officers show up to execute the warrant, a few hours later…that’s when America opened fire. Eventually, he gives up and surrenders to the police. The case continues. America is held in the North Central Regional Jail.
