Pipe Replacement Project is Finished in Lincoln County

Crews have completed a massive pipe replacement project in Lincoln County that was causing washout and pavement issues. Contractors replaced a 60-inch drainpipe near the Lincoln Church of God in West Hamlin that was constantly becoming clogged, leading to washouts and crumbling pavement, according to a news release from the West Virginia Department of Transportation. The pipe goes under WV 10 on the banks of the Guyandotte River. Engineers said the old pipe had a tee angle in it that led to clogging. The $380,000 project replaced the pipe with a straight 60-inch section nearly big enough for a grown man to stand in. Officials said the project took about three weeks.
