Power outages for Appalachian Power customers in West Virginia soared to more than 64,000…after powerful storms moved through the state. Kanawha County had the most outages…with nearly 13,000 customers without power. Cabell and Fayette counties each had more than 8,000 customers without service. Logan had 5,800…Mingo, 6,700. The powerful storm downed numerous trees and power lines, officials confirm. In Wayne County, there were reports of a tree down on the roof of a home in Spring Valley. Logan County 911 says there was some damage, over in Man. Two mudslides are being reported in Mingo County…one on Route 52 on the west end of town, near Route 119…the other?…on Goodman Avenue. Utility crews continue their work, at this hour.
