A former Cabell Midland football player is in the hospital recovering from brain surgery following a fluke accident. Jakob Caudill missed a step and fell down some basement stairs and hit his head. He is in stable condition, but is still unconscious and on a ventilator. Caudill, who graduated from Cabell Midland in 2021, earned first team all-state honors in his junior and senior seasons.
