Authorties try to figure out why someone put dye into Witcher Creek

An investigation is underway after water turned a green color Wednesday afternoon in Witcher Creek in Kanawha County. Kanawha County Commission President Kent Carper said someone put a bucket of pond dye in the creek and they’re not sure why. The dye has been removed and the water should be clearing up. WCHS TV said investigators with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection have looked at the creek and they said it was non-toxic and they have not observed any impacts on aquatic life. Witcher Creek is a tributary of the Kanawha River and runs about 6.8 miles long.
