Sex offender is arrested in Charleston for allegedly soliciting prostitutes

A convicted sex offender who is currently serving 50 years of supervised release was arrested this week after police said he was soliciting prostitutes in Charleston.
61-year old Charles Woods, Sr. of Charleston is charged with felony third offense prostitution. Charleston Police were contacted by a woman who said a red truck was following her and asking her to get inside and provide him with sexual favors for money. Police said the woman provided photographs of the truck, which police recognized as a red Ford Ranger that belonged to Woods. As officers were talking to him they said a known prostitute came up to them and told them Woods had been stalking her that night in his truck. Police noted that Woods had been charged six times for prostitution through the city of Charleston since 2021, which included this incident, which led to the state felony charge. He’s currently in the South Central Regional Jail.
