The owner of a popular Putnam County restaurant has been indicted by a grand jury on sexual assault and abduction charges. Achraf A. Assi, who goes by Osh, was indicted on charges of second-degree sexual assault, first-degree sexual abuse, abduction and unlawful restraint, according to an indictment in Putnam County Circuit Court. Assi is the owner of Fairways Bar & Grill located on Teays Valley Road in Hurricane. The case was investigated by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators told Eyewitness News that the accusations originated at the restaurant and include allegations that the victim felt drugged. The indictment went on to accuse Assi of abducting the woman and detaining her against her will in March 2022. The victim was also allegedly unlawfully restrained by Assi, according to the indictment.
