A University of Charleston graduate has inspired an athletic arena project

UC said on its website that Sam Femia graduated from Morris Harvey College andtouched many before losing an eight-year battle with cancer last year. To honor his legacy, Sam’s Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity brothers have created the Sam Femia Memorial Project to build a broadcast booth in the Wehrle Arena where Femia spent so much time cheering on his Golden Eagles. The booth will allow UC to live stream any games that take place in the Arena. The university said the project has raised nearly $25,000 so far and has a goal of $30,000. Additional funds raised will go to support UC athletics. The link to donate is at www.ucwv.edu.
