Sherri Young, who was appointed to serve as secretary of the West Virginia Department of Health, will serve as interim DHHR secretary until the agency dissolves. Young will replace Jeff Coben as interim secretary of the DHHR effective July 5, according to a news release from West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice’s Office. Coben had originally planned to depart from the role on July 5. Young will serve as interim secretary until the DHHR dissolves and the Department of Health is officially created Jan. 1, 2024.
