The Public Service commission is ordering an investigation to examine the maintenance and testing of fire hydrants across the state. The investigation stems from two fires in which firefighters didn’t have enough water to fight the blazes. The PSC is compiling information on the number and age of hydrants, and the supporting water lines and maintenance plans.
