The Federal Communications Commission recently granted the state $1.2 billion dollars for broadband improvements. Right now there are around 270,000 “dead” spots around the state where there is no service, according to the FCC. The goal with the funding is to connect every home, school and business. The governor said recently at a news conference that good broadband service will help attract new companies to West Virginia.
