Deputies in Kanawha County said they were already on their way to the Carleton Court apartment complex in Cross Lanes with an arrest warrant for an earlier incident Monday when a man was fatally shot. Investigators were first called to the complex because of a domestic dispute between a woman and her boyfriend, Alex Hall. Deputies advised the woman to file a protection order against Hall and leave while they got an arrest warrant. While they were gone, the woman’s father, Billie Joe Parker, arrived and got into an argument with Hall. Shots were fired, and Parker was shot twice by Hall. He was taken to a hospital for the gunshot wounds where he was later pronounced dead. Hall faces several charges as the investigation continues.
