A temporary restraining order has been granted to Mountaineer Gas against contractors 3J Underground and BND Services, accusing them of hitting a gas line and not reporting it. Homeowner Michael Grubb and the city of Dunbar told Eyewitness News they’re still trying to figure out who is responsible. Mountaineer Gas Company filed a temporary restraining order in Kanawha County on Friday, blaming outside contractors in the area for the incident. According to the order, 3J Underground struck the gas line sometime in the late morning that day. The gas company said in the complaint that the contractor reported the leak at 2:30 p.m. The explosion happened at 6 p.m. that evening. Kanawha County Circuit Court Judge Mary Claire Akers signed off on the order, which temporarily prevents the contractor from working in any area where there are Mountaineer Gas lines.
