West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey joined a coalition of 40 states to urge the U.S. Supreme Court to allow a three-time veteran the full set of education benefits that the law allows. The coalition argues that a veteran is entitled to receive a total of 48 months of education benefits- without first exhausting the Montgomery benefit in order to obtain the most generous post-9/11 benefit. An appeals court ruled in favor of Army veteran James Rudisill, but a federal court reversed that decision last December.
